Mix Dry Yeast with Warm Milk and let it rest for 10 minutes until foamy.

In a large bowl, Mix Flour, Salt and Sugar.
Add Eggs, Oil and the Yeast mixture.

Knead until smooth and elastic.

Cover and let rise for 1 hour — it should double in size.

Bring Milk and Vanilla Sugar to a boil.
Add Poppy Seeds and cook for 2–3 minutes until thick.

Let it cool.

Roll out the Dough into a big rectangle.

Spread the cooled Poppy Filling evenly.

Roll it up tightly.

Cut into thick slices.


Place them flat on a Baking Tray lined with Parchment Paper.

Beat the Egg.

Brush with the beaten Egg.

Cover and rest for another 20 minutes — they’ll puff up beautifully.

Bake at 180°C for 20 minutes until golden brown.


Mix 40 g Powdered Sugar with 1 TS Milk for Icing.
While the Rolls are still slightly warm, drizzle the Glaze over the top.
