Instructions

  1. Activate the Yeast

    Mix Dry Yeast with Warm Milk and let it rest for 10 minutes until foamy.

  1. Make the Dough

    In a large bowl, Mix Flour, Salt and Sugar.
    Add Eggs, Oil and the Yeast mixture.

  1. Knead until smooth and elastic.

  1. Cover and let rise for 1 hour — it should double in size.

  1. Prepare the Filling

    Bring Milk and Vanilla Sugar to a boil.
    Add Poppy Seeds and cook for 2–3 minutes until thick.

  1. Let the Poppy Filling cool before spreading.

  1. Shape the Rolls

    Roll out the Dough into a big rectangle.

  1. Spread the cooled Poppy Filling evenly.

  1. Roll it up tightly.

  1. Cut into thick slices.

    Cut gently with a sharp knife or kitchen string for neat spirals.
  1. Place them flat on a Baking Tray lined with Parchment Paper.

  1. Brush with beaten Egg.

  1. Let them rise again

    Cover and rest for another 20 minutes — they’ll puff up beautifully.

  1. Bake

    Bake at 180°C for 20 minutes until golden brown.

  1. Mix 40 g Powdered Sugar with 1 TS Milk for Icing.

  1. Icing

    While the Rolls are still slightly warm, drizzle the Glaze over the top.

  1. Store in an airtight box or cover with a clean cloth — they’ll stay soft for 2–3 days.
