Description

Fluffy, buttery rolls filled with a rich poppy seed swirl — soft, aromatic, and perfectly sweet. A cozy treat for breakfast or afternoon tea.

Instructions

  1. Prepare Dry Yeast

    Mix Dry Yeast with Warm Milk and let it rest for 10 minutes until foamy.

  1. Prepare the Dough

    In a large bowl, Mix Flour, Salt and Sugar.

    Add Eggs, Oil and the Yeast mixture.

  1. Knead

    Knead until smooth and elastic.

  1. Let it rest

    Cover and let rise for 1 hour — it should double in size.

  1. Prepare the Filling

    Bring Milk and Vanilla Sugar to a boil.
    Add Poppy Seeds and cook for 2–3 minutes until thick.

  1. Let it cool.

  1. Roll

    Roll out the Dough into a big rectangle.

  1. Spread the cooled Poppy Filling evenly.

  1. Roll it up tightly.

  1. Cut

    Cut into thick slices.

  1. Place them flat on a Baking Tray lined with Parchment Paper.

  1. Beat the Egg.

  1. Brush with the beaten Egg.

  1. Cover and rest for another 20 minutes — they’ll puff up beautifully.

  1. Bake

    Bake at 180°C for 20 minutes until golden brown.

  1. Icing

    Mix 40 g Powdered Sugar with 1 TS Milk for Icing.

    While the Rolls are still slightly warm, drizzle the Glaze over the top.
