Description
This traditional-style dessert brings the comforting flavors of homemade apple compote and fluffy sponge together in one simple yet elegant treat. Perfectly moist, mildly sweet, and irresistibly nostalgic ā a true taste of Yugoslav home baking.

Instructions

Prepare the Batter
In a bowl mix the Eggs with Sugar until light and fluffy.

Add the remaining Batter ingredients.

Mix until smooth.

Pour the Mixture into a greased Baking Pan.

Bake
Bake for 25 minutes at 180°C.

Prepare the Apple Layer
Peel and chop the Apples. In a pot, add 700 ml of Water, the Apples, and Sugar.

Bring to a boil, then remove from heat.

Blend
Blend with an immersion blender until smooth.

In a separate bowl, mix the remaining Water with Vanilla Pudding Powder and Vanilla Sugar.

Cook the Cream
Pour this Mixture into the pot with the Apple Puree, return to the heat, and cook until thickened.

Assemble the Cake
Pour the warm Apple cream over the Baked Sponge.Ā

Let it cool completely.

Add the Whipped Topping
Spread Whipped Cream evenly over the cooled Cake and refrigerate for 1ā2 hours before serving.

Serve chilled, cut into squares, and enjoy with a cup of Coffee or Tea.
